Fun Activities in Santa Ponsa

The main activity on holiday is the beach and with 2 fantastic beaches in Santa Ponsa and numerous beaches in the surrounding area, this is a perfect resort if lying on the soft sand and relaxing with a good book is for you. However, if you prefer a more active holiday there are plenty of options to keep you busy!

Paddleboarding

Snorkelling

This is a great activity for exploring the hidden underwater World of Santa Ponsa. ZoeaMallorca have a 3 hour snorkelling session. This is a beginners course and is 54€. You have to be over the age of 8 and be able to swim. The session includes Full Equipment hire, registration, a presentation by your guide, preperation i,e gearing up, a 10 minute ride to the snorkelling site then a dive for around an hour. Diving

ZoeaMallorca also do a complete Diving course to obtain a PADI diving qualification. With 20 years of expericence they will provide you with full equipment, insurance and transfers. An intense course starts with Theory and includes 5 modules that will cover all the subjects related to the depth, equipment, dive and techniques. In the classrooms you can watch videos and you will have quizzes and a final exam. You then move on to the pool sessions where you will learn all the skills and techniques. Then you will head out to open sea and cover 4 sessions from the boat into the water. The first 2 dives being a maximum 12meters before your final dives at 18 meters. The cost of this course is 445€

E Scooter

This is a relatively new experience on the Island. Environmentally friendly, this is a fun tour to explore the Island. Discover wondeful landscapes, ride on a off road path and hear the history of the Island from your guide. 10 participants are allowed. The tour includes transfers from Santa Ponsa areas, helmet and protection and the tour which lasts around 2 hours. Kayaking

This is a fantastic way to see the coast line. ZoeaMallorca have a 3 hour tour which includes full equipment, and guide. Start from their base at Club Nautico Santa Ponsa and head for the Malgrats Island where you will discover hidden coves and natural pools. This tour starts at 10am and is 54€ per person. You can also hire Kayaks at 16€ for 1 hour, 28€ for 2 hours. 36€ for 3 hours and 40€ for 4 hours.

Horseriding

What a romantic way to spend a couple of hours. Rancho la Romana based in Peguera have gentle and well trained horses/ponies, excellent staff and good instruction on how to ride and hold on to the horse! Boat trip

Coastline and Malgrats Island by Catamaran. A great excursion to see Paguera, Santa Ponsa and Camp de Mar. Tour around the Malgrats Island and spot the local wildlife. Beautiul scenary along the coastline and if there is enough time some swimming stops. The upper deck of the catamaran has sunbathing space, the lower deck is submerged with underwater windows so you have great views of native fish. Refreshments and snacks are available to purchase on board.

Private Yacht Hire

Waterparks

Santa Ponsa is in a great location for days out at the waterpark. Marineland Mallorca located nearby, is a marine zoo and water park with dolphin and sea lion shows. Western Waterpark

This is a large family fun filled waterpark located in Magaluf. This is a full days experience of adrenaline filled rides. El Latigo is a ride with exciting aquatic curves, with numerous other slides to get the heart pumping! There are also areas of the park which are a little more laid back with a lazy river ride and a renovated pool so you can relax for a bit! Golf

Golf Santa Ponsa is an ideal location to play golf in the area as it has a course of 18 holes, with the 10th hole being one of the longest in Europe at 590 meters. The course itself has beautiful views of Puig Galatzó and covers an area of 73 hectares, with a variety of trees and lakes to pass as you progress.

The course is designed to appeal to all players, with wide fairways and tees for long hitters to enjoy. In addition to the course, you will also have at your disposal a driving range to practice your game, a chipping area and two putting greens. Fiestas

Santa Ponsa is famous throughout the island for hosting two big Fiestas every year. The first is called the Rocio, and this is a five day Andalucian Religious Festival, which is held during the first weekend in June each year. In keeping with most religious festivals in Mallorca these days, it becomes a long weekend of food, drink and music, along with a little bit of praying! The Rocio does attract a large number of people to the town each year, and there is always a great selection of side shows and stalls.

Fiesta of King James has now grown into a two week celebration that usually starts around the 1st of September, to commemorate the landing and conquering of Mallorca by Jaime I in 1229. He and his troops landed at Santa Ponsa, and today the spot is marked by a stone cross on the southern headland not far from the nautical club. The fiesta ends on the second weekend of the month with a grand procession through the streets, followed by a mock battle between the Moors and Christians on the beach on the Saturday. That night there is then a rock concert from 9pm until 4am, which has in the past attracted many top international acts. The whole fiesta ends with a grand fireworks display at midnight on the Sunday, the likes of which you've never seen before.

Santa Ponsa Jungle Park
