The Caves of Campanet are situated in the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains, on the southern slopes of the Sant Miquel hill. A tour, which lasts approximately 40 minutes, takes you along a pathway through the different passages and chambers, all of which have different names such as the Lake Chamber and the Palm Tree Chamber. Some of the chambers have their own water pools and as the caves are known for the richness of their calcareous deposits, you can expect to see some in the form of many stalagmites and stalactites. The caves have been the setting for various films and have inspired painters such as Casimir Tarrassό, and poets such as Bartomeu Guas i Gelabert. The caves are definitely worth visiting and offer a refreshing underground coolness during the summer heat.
