There are numerous companies throughout Mallorca that offer a huge variety of watersports to experience, from the calm and relaxing to the adrenalin pumping, we are so lucky to have stunning beaches and plentiful coastlines in Mallorca, why not get out and explore them? Here is a short guide on the best watersports on offer in Southwest Mallorca.
Zoea Mallorca....based in Santa Ponsa ( link with Santa Ponsa villas ) they offer paddle boarding, diving, kayaking and snorkeling. A 5*padi diving centre complete with diving shop. Single and double kayaks available, a great way to get out and explore the coves and beaches of the surrounding area, prices start from 12€ per hour (single) and 18€ per hour for double. Stand up paddle boards are available to hire from 12€per hour, go at your own pace to explore the beauty of Malgrats Islands, and marine reserve.
They offer a short theory introduction to scuba diving which follows onto a real sea dive of up 8 metres, you have to be a competent swimmer and over 8 years old. This course is 3 hours long.
As well as paddle boards, which is an excellent way to explore the stunning coastline of Mallorca, From Mallorca can offer snorkeling for 2 hours from 65€ per hour. They also provide windsurfing equipment, boards start from 25€ per hour or to have instruction its 180€ for 4 hours.
Sailing and Catamaran hire from Es Trenc beach available to rent from 70€ for 1 hour or an intense 3 day course from 450€. Kayak rental is also available here, kayak rental and a 2 hour tour is 35€ per person, an 8 hour single kayak rental is 30€pp and a double is 50€.
Offering 16 years of diving experience, this established diving school is in Port Andtratx, Mallorca ( link for Andtratx properties ). They do various tours pending on diving ability. Sa Mora is a dive of up tp 20 metres a world of marine wonder will be waiting for you and you will see Morey Eels, Jellyfish and Bream. S'Aquilot is a 22 metre dive and is 2 miles out from Port Andratx. Barracudas, Gilthead Bream and Crayfish will be visible here. For the more advanced diver they have 2 ship wreck tours one is Conger wreck which goes down to 36 metres, and the ship is 20m in keel length. Conger and Morey Eels love this area. The other is Cabo Llebreig a 40 metre dive just off Dragonera, a canal 1 mile in breadth. Sharks and whales have been spotted, in some areas you feel like you are in freefall.
Rock and Water
This company offers various outdoor activities which incorporates water. Coast steering (suitable for all levels) involves jumping from cliffs into water and bracing walks along paths next to sea cliffs. How about Canyoning? Mallorca is well know for its canyons, in particular Sa Fosca, ideal for experts as this is a 5-6 hour day’s canyoning with a 580 metre descent.

You may even see dolphins along the way…with a resident DJ on board, sit back and enjoy a tipple and take in the magnificent scenery. Various other boating activities are available to include stops to do a bit of exploring and snorkeling.

Kite surfing is also widely available all over the island, you will tend to find it along the long sandy beaches of Palma Nova and Es Trenc on the Southwest of Mallorca, some surfing schools have now added kite surfing to their instruction programme.
