Our Island is perfect for setting out on two wheels ad exploring. From the wonderful country villages such as S’Arraco in the south to the long quieter roads in the North, and the wonderful sweeping hills and turns of the Tramuntana Mountain range where you will also discover breath-taking views and the Sa Calobra, the most famous cycling climb in Mallorca. There really is so much to discover and plenty of routes to choose from. The Mallorca312 race is an annual event with a route length of 312km and elevation of 5050m. There are 3 different routes to choose from and if you don’t feel like it, you don’t have to complete the full 312km. The Mallorca Triathlon
Try your sea legs, cycling legs and running legs all in one go!! This is a popular event in Mallorca which normally takes place in April/May. The race starts with a 1500m sea swim at Es Dolc. After the swim a 38km bike ride, just when your legs are almost giving up you have a 9.3km run around the city. Phew!! What a way to see the City of Palma. If you are not feeling athlete ready you could always take a Tour of Palma City Bus Tour! Why not extend your stay and book one of our luxury villa for a well deserve rest.
We cannot do a sports blog and not mention Tennis!! Mallorca will host the Mallorcan ATP Championship in 2021. The event will take place in Santa Ponsa and will have 28 single players draw and 16 doubles teams draw. The event is looking to take place in June. There are a number of tennis clubs around Mallorca and our very own Villa Mara is situated very close to the 5* Santa Ponsa Tennis academy.
The Rafa Nadal Sports experience museum is located in Manacor which celebrates all things sports and where you can also see some of Rafa’s trophies and rackets. The centre is a place where you can have fun learning all about the values of sports.
IronMan Alcudia. This annual event is held in the beautiful resort of Alcudia. A gruelling course of a 1.9km swim, 90km cycle ride and a 21.1km run, this race is definitely not for the faint hearted. The race has sold out for 2021 but you could always combine a stay in one of our villas and support from the side lines!
Sailing and boat shows
Sailing on Mallorca is huge with may Regattas, boat shows and super yachts. With events mainly based around Palma, even if you are not taking part you can take part as a spectator.
Running in Mallorca.
Trail running has become very popular in Mallorca due to the varied terrain and wonderful climate. There are a few races which take place but the most popular is the Ultra Trail a 105km race from Andratx to Pollenca. The fastest runners normally complete in 14hours. If you don’t feel up to this there are a number of routes to choose from to suit all abilities.
Mallorca is the perfect Island for hiking with various terrains suitable for all levels, and pleasant climate all year round. The North and Nortwest take in the Serra de Tramuntana and The Dry Stone Route offer great hiking paths. Why not book a couple of days in one of our villas and explore.
Stand up Paddle.
This increasingly popular sport is taking off in Mallorca – plenty of spaces around the Island offering lessons and equipment hire. Connect with nature and discover Mallorcas hidden inlets and coves.
There are numerous gyms throughout the island offering all the equipment you need for a workout. We can point you in the right direction of the local health clubs. Some of our villas come equipped with a gym of their own
